Onostsav 2017

 Onostsavam for Vimalites started on 29th August with a grand Onasadya for staff members. Higher Secondary students went to the lower classes with lot of games and fun. A group of students along with Principal, PTA President Sri. Tom J Kallarackal and Eco Club in charge teachers went to Kumaramangalam Naduvathumpara Colony and distributed the Onam Kit and  Onakodi for the poor and the meek. They have also visit a elderly man Sri. Balakrishnan Nair staying alone at Kanjiramattom and gave him the onam kit.

th morning at around 6:30, ​​ students of HSS started laying the large flower carpet outside the HS block and in Carmel Auditorium.

By 9:30​am​ Onam celebrations were in full swing. The day witnessed various traditional Onam competitions. A classic game of Vadamvali or tug of war brought out a different level of excitement from the students. All the students were excited to participate in the Treasure Hunt competition. The forenoon programmes ended by savouring the sweet onapayasam.

By 01.30pm beautiful young ladies in their traditional wears for Thiruvaathira, Mahabalis, Vamanas, Tigers and hunters of the 4 houses welcomed the Chief Guest Sri. Anil Nambhoothiri, MD, Dhanvanthiri Groups of Institutions and led him to the main auditorium as a procession with poovili and pulikali where the students displayed their cultural extravaganza. The Chief Guest shared his thoughts about the real origin of Onam and how it has become a part of Kerala Traditional Festival. The program went on till 04.15pm.
